Why Increase Continues for Some People and Stops for Others
Core Truth
Increase continues when harvest is treated as part of the system. Increase stops when harvest is treated as the end result.
THE PRINCIPLE
God never designed increase to terminate with the individual. Harvest is not the reward it is the next stage of seedtime and harvest.
Think of it this way:
- Seed starts the process
- Harvest keeps the process going
If harvest is never turned back into seed, the system eventually shuts down.
This is why Scripture separates seed from bread. Bread meets today’s needs. Seed creates tomorrow’s supply. When everything is consumed as bread, tomorrow is unsupported.
Many believers unintentionally stop increase because they do not pause to ask:
“What part of this is seed?”
This isn’t greed. This isn’t pressure. This is how God’s system stays active.
God does not multiply money sitting in an account. He multiplies seed that is released back into the system. Not because He is demanding but because multiplication only happens after release.
THE FORMULA
Receive → Decide → Release → Increase
Let’s slow this way down.
1. Receive
Receiving harvest properly means recognizing:
“This increase came through God’s system.”
When people credit only effort, fear enters stewardship. When they acknowledge God as source, confidence replaces fear.
2. Decide
This is the step most people skip.
You must decide on purpose:
- What portion is for provision
- What portion is for seed
If this decision is never made, everything defaults to consumption.
This decision should happen before spending, not after.
3. Release
Seed must leave your hand to re-enter the system.
Release can look like:
- Giving
- Investing
- Obeying an instruction
- Supporting Kingdom work
Release is not emotional generosity. It is cooperation with design.
4. Increase
Increase does not usually show up as the same thing you released.
Money seed may return as opportunity.
Time seed may return as favor.
Obedience seed may return as access.
But increase always follows release.
THE PROMISE
God promises three things to consistent sowers:
- Sufficiency — needs are met
- Seed supply — you never run out of seed
- Multiplication — capacity expands
This promise removes fear from stewardship. You are not choosing between obedience and survival. God guarantees supply because the system works.
WHY INCREASE STOPS
Increase usually stops because:
- All harvest was consumed
- No seed was set aside
- Fear replaced faith in stewardship
Not because God withheld.
Not because the season ended.
Because the system paused.
APPLICATION
This application is not about emotion or pressure. It is about re-engaging the system.
Step 1: Identify Your Last Harvest
Think about the most recent increase you experienced. This could be:
- Money
- A raise or bonus
- Extra time
- A new opportunity
- Favor, access, or influence
Write it down. Be specific.
Increase must be recognized before it can be stewarded.
Step 2: Ask the Right Question
Ask yourself honestly:
- Did I treat all of that increase as provision?
- Did I intentionally set aside any portion as seed?
- Did I release anything back into the system?
If the answer is no, that does not mean you failed it means you now understand where the flow paused.
Step 3: Decide Seed vs. Provision
Make a clear decision, not emotionally, but intentionally:
- What portion is provision?
- What portion is seed?
This decision should be made before spending, not afterward.
Undecided harvest always defaults to consumption.
Step 4: Release One Specific Seed
Release seed in a way that aligns with obedience and faith. This could include:
- Giving
- Supporting Kingdom work
- Investing in something God has prompted
- Obeying a specific instruction you’ve delayed
Do not release randomly. Release on purpose.
Step 5: Expect Continuation, Not Instant Return
Do not watch the seed.
Do not mentally check the ground.
Do not decide it “didn’t work.”
Your responsibility is release and stewardship not control.
The system is now active again.
Self-Check
Ask yourself this question over the next few weeks:
“Am I stewarding like someone who trusts the system, or like someone afraid of losing?”
Your answer will tell you whether increase will continue.
Key Reminder
Increase does not stop because God withholds.
Increase stops when harvest never becomes seed again.
Restarting the flow is not complicated it is intentional.
